How can I check my answers and get explanations of the correct answers?

Reading, Listening, and Writing Skills

In Reading, Listening, and Writing Skills sections, you can check your answer after each question. You must enter an answer before Check and Explain will become available.

Use the buttons at the top of the Skills screens to do the following:

Click on Check  to record your answer and to see if your answer is correct or incorrect. Explain will become available.

Click on Explain  to see an explanation of the correct answer. (Screen 2)

Click on Help  to get information about using the software program (not about answering the question).

Click on Back  to return to previous questions (not available in Listening).

Click on Next  to go to the next question.

After you finish a Reading, Listening or Writing Skills practice exercise, you will move to the Results Report. You have the opportunity to review each question in the exercise and see an explanation of the correct answer from the Results Report.


Speaking Skills

In Speaking Skills, you can play back the recording of your response immediately. You may compare your response to a Sample Answer. You may evaluate your response yourself using a Checklist. See the Speaking section for more details on the Self-Assessment Checklist. The computer cannot check your Speaking response.


Mini-Tests and Complete Tests

In the test sections, you cannot check your answers in Reading or Listening, or evaluate your Speaking and Writing responses until you complete the test. After you finish a test, you will move to the Results Report. You have the opportunity to review each question and see an explanation of the correct answer from the Results Report.
